Prime Value Dairy Overcomes Language Barriers with Clear Farm Maps
At Waratah Park, managing 675 acres and 940 head of cattle is no small feat—especially after combining three separate farms into one.
Anne-Marie Padman, the farm’s manager, faced significant challenges in coordinating her six-person, multicultural team while ensuring contractors could easily navigate the property.
Language barriers and inconsistent communication about field locations often led to confusion and inefficiency.
Farm Mapping Services provided a game-changing solution. By collaborating closely with Anne-Marie, they created a highly detailed farm map featuring drains, fences, water troughs, lanes, and updated field numbering.
"They were organzsed, efficient, and easy to work with,” Anne-Marie said.
The large magnetic whiteboard map quickly became indispensable.
“Sometimes we do have a language barrier between staff," Anne-Marie said, "so by having it on the map, it saves us a lot of hard work when everyone can clearly see where they’re going and what they’re doing.”
Smaller A4 maps also proved invaluable for contractors, enabling precise fertilizer applications without needing extra instructions.
With these tools, communication vastly improved, and tasks became streamlined. “It saves a lot of confusion,” Anne-Marie said.
For Anne-Marie, the results speak for themselves: “I’d highly recommend Farm Mapping Services. They’ve made life so much easier.”
They got our map done really quickly; Organized, efficient, and really easy to get along with, including everything we needed.
